When a customer wants a big, bright glazed roof, Quantal is usually where we start. It's Ultraframe's aluminium roof system, and it has been refined over almost 25 years.
Why aluminium for a glazed roof
Aluminium is stronger than uPVC or timber, so the glazing bars can be slimmer for the same span. That means more glass, less frame, and a roof that looks lighter from inside.
What makes Quantal stand out
- Thermally broken ridge and glazing bars to cut heat loss and condensation.
- Low pitches from 2.5°, useful under first-floor windows.
- Designed for your location: each roof is sized to the wind and snow loads for your postcode.
- Self-cleaning glass options in Activ Blue, Neutral, Clear and Green.
- Strengthened eaves for wide openings and gables.
Making it feel like a proper room
Add an insulated internal pelmet for downlights and speakers, super-insulated columns that Ultraframe says are five times more thermally efficient than brick piers of the same size, and a cornice outside for an orangery look.
Colours
Four core colours, including anthracite grey RAL 7016, have the shortest lead times. Other RAL colours are available, and you can have aluminium outside with uPVC inside.
Going bigger
For openings beyond a standard span, we design the roof around a steel portal frame. Read how in our article on oversize spans with portal frames.
